Swell-Flex Acrylic - Swelling Waterstop

Definition
Swell-Flex Acrylic is a new generation high performance hydrophilic acrylic polymer based expanding waterstop. It expands up to 300% when in contact with water. .
Usage Areas
Swell-Flex Acrylic is used in concrete construction for sealing of construction joints including wall/base connections, pipe entry systems, sealing of openings and interface sections between existing and new concrete.

Advantages
Conformable, can be used on a variety of irregular substrates.
Forms an impermeable barrier against water in concrete.
Excellent compliance with deformed surfaces and joints.
Saves time and labour.
Simple overlap jointing on site.
In totally dry state it will shrink to original dimensions and re-expand in contact with water.
Preparing Surface
The surface must be clean and dry. Any loose or flaking concrete must be removed. (The preferred practice of scabbling joints is recommended).
It must not be applied to wet, frozen, greasy or dusty surfaces, and under wet weather conditions.
 Application
Roll out required amount of Swell-Flex Acrylic and apply exposed face to concrete, a space of minimum 75mm  must be given to concrete cover on all sides.
Firmly press the SWELL FLEX onto concrete fully. Use acrylic mastic in vertical application for better adhesion and press for at least 15 seconds for prefect adherence.
Make sure waterstop covers all parts of the surface, especially for surfaces which are not perfect in shape. Put together tape ends side by side or end to end; do not overlap.
When Swell-Flex has been positioned remove backing paper and pour concrete carefully.
When installing Swell-flex vertically, work from bottom to top prevent material deformation/elongation.
It is not suitable for use in movement joints.
